We are a passionate team of engineers, data scientists and strategists united by a single belief: that well-crafted artificial intelligence can make every organisation smarter, faster and more humane.
Our story
Essential Ai Solutions was founded in 2019 in Northern Ireland with a clear mission: to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and practical, real-world business applications. Our founders — a former university machine-learning researcher and an enterprise software architect — saw first-hand how many organisations struggled to move beyond proof-of-concept experiments and into production-grade AI software that delivered tangible returns.
Starting from a small shared workspace in Belfast, we built our first product — a demand-forecasting engine for a regional food distributor — in just twelve weeks. The results were so compelling that word spread quickly. Within eighteen months, we had expanded to a team of fifteen and were serving clients in healthcare, logistics, finance and retail.
Today, we operate from our studio in Northern Ireland and collaborate with partners across the United Kingdom and Europe. While our capabilities have grown enormously, our founding ethos remains unchanged: build AI software that solves real problems, treat every client relationship as a partnership, and never stop learning.
Our mission and values
Everything we do is guided by a set of principles that keep us accountable to our clients, our colleagues and the wider community. These are not slogans on a wall — they shape every decision we make.
Integrity first
We are transparent about what AI can and cannot do. We never over-promise, we document our methodologies and we flag risks early. Trust is the foundation of every engagement, and we earn it through honesty and accountability at every stage of the project lifecycle.
Human-centred design
Technology should serve people, not the other way around. We involve end users early, test with real workflows and iterate until the experience feels effortless. Our AI software augments human judgement rather than replacing it, empowering teams to focus on creative and strategic work.
Responsible innovation
We build AI systems that are fair, explainable and secure. Every model we deploy undergoes bias testing, and we provide clear documentation so stakeholders understand how decisions are made. We adhere to the UK government AI ethics framework and continuously monitor for unintended consequences.
Continuous learning
The AI landscape evolves at breathtaking speed. We invest heavily in research, attend international conferences and contribute to open-source projects. Every team member dedicates time each week to studying new techniques, ensuring our clients always benefit from the latest advances in the field.

Our journey so far
Key milestones that have shaped who we are today and where we are heading next.
2019 — Founded in Belfast
James and Priya launched Essential Ai Solutions from a shared workspace, signing our first client within eight weeks. The initial focus was predictive analytics for supply-chain optimisation in the food and beverage sector.
2020 — First major healthcare contract
We partnered with a regional NHS trust to develop an AI-driven patient-flow prediction system, reducing A&E waiting times by an average of nineteen per cent during peak periods. This project cemented our reputation in the public sector.
2021 — Team expansion and new office
The team grew to twenty-two members and we moved into a purpose-built studio in Northern Ireland. We also launched our AI strategy consulting practice, helping organisations create actionable roadmaps before writing a single line of code.
2023 — International partnerships
We formed strategic alliances with cloud providers and research institutions across Europe, enabling us to tackle larger, more complex engagements. Our client base expanded to include organisations in Germany, the Netherlands and Ireland.
2025 — Looking ahead
We are investing in next-generation capabilities including multi-modal AI, edge computing and privacy-preserving machine learning. Our goal is to make responsible, high-impact AI software accessible to organisations of every size and sector.
